“When Women Called The Shots” explores the fascinating history of the early 1910’s film industry in Los Angeles – a time when the industry actively courted female screenwriters, directors, producers and studio heads. The segment follows Lois Weber, who was one of the “three great minds” in Hollywood, alongside D.W. Griffith and Cecil B. DeMille. The highest paid director in Hollywood, Lois Weber faded from existence – or more accurately, was erased from history, along with hundred of other Women and POC working at the time.
